These things could be a sign that your road is a little bumpy and you need some assistance with navigating through it all. Seeing a therapist could be helpful.

    Sometimes the stigma of seeking help can hold people back from doing what is necessary to feel better. It is essential to know that others may already know that something is going on because they know you. An excellent first step is to remember that you need to take care of yourself first in order to be present for others.

    Finding a therapist can be daunting. Knowing that finding the right therapist to suit your needs is important and keeps you from discontinuing before you are ready. When beginning this journey, do not be afraid to ask for what you need and find the right fit.

    If you have read this and decided that B&L Psychotherapy and consulting is the right fit for your journey forward, thank you for your trust in us. Before our first session, we will ask for you to complete paperwork regarding your history, our policies, confidentiality, and payment information. Our first session will be a lot of questions. We want to get to know you, your history, and what you see for the direction of things moving forward. Together, we will develop a plan of care, what we like to call a treatment plan. We will also discuss how that treatment may look as well as an anticipated time frame for us to get to the place you want to be. The first session will likely not feel like you are in therapy but rather being questioned. Do not worry; the future sessions will likely be a little more as you would anticipate. It is also important to be aware that therapy is a process; things do not always get better immediately, sometimes they may even get worse first. Do not be afraid to discuss these things, be honest about what is happening and ask questions that you have.
